With This Year’s Black Winefest, Kabila Events Outdoes Itself

Kabila Events, architects of cultural experiences such as CultureFest, might have outdone themselves.
Saturday, September 13th, the normally reverently quiet halls of The Penn Museum echoed afrobeats, laughter, and the clinking of glasses as Kabila hosted the Philly Black Wine Fest. This year’s theme was Eden Noir, and while attendees were not required to follow the suggested color scheme, many attendees did.
Along with access to the wine festival, attendees were treated to admission into the museum itself. Surrounded by cases of antiquities, attendees enjoyed a 3-hour wine tasting while taking in art and ancient artifacts. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn from local wine experts everything from how to properly enjoy a wine tasting to the history of various wines and the future of wine.
Out in the lush gardens, attendees sampled and purchased wines from Black vinters and talented Philly creatives while enjoying food from local vendors. As with all good events the music, whether live jazz or R&B or DJ sets of body-moving beats, kept the party going. A time was indeed had.
